Frequently Asked Questions

How much do parking permits cost?

Please view our Parking Permit Fees Web page.

Where should I put my permit?

A permanent decal should be placed on the outside of the rear window in the lower driver-side corner or on the rear bumper. These instructions are also on the back of the permit.

A hangtag permit must be displayed from the rear-view mirror facing forward unobstructed from the front.

The permits must be displayed in this fashion to be valid.

What if I have more than one vehicle?

A hangtag permit is transferable to several vehicles.

What if I have a motorcycle?

If you have a motorcycle and drive a car as well you need to do two things.

First, go to the cashier’s cage in the administration building and tell them you need to purchase a motorcycle permit. This means that you will pay the price for a hangtag, but they will give you a permanent decal.

Second, bring the permanent decal, receipt, motorcycle registration, and ID to our office (Admin 118) where we will issue you a temporary hangtag for your car.

What if I bring a different vehicle and do not have a hang tag?

If you must bring a different vehicle to campus one day call 549-2373 with the following information: your name, decal number, make, model and plate number of the car you are driving. This is okay if you are driving the second vehicle for one to two days.

If your car is in the shop for a period of time greater than two days, you need to go to the parking office (Admin 118) with the same information as above and a time estimate from a certified mechanic. This will allow the parking office to decide on an appropriate course of action.

Where can I park?

Students may park in any lot with white lines. The exceptions

to this are the Residents Hall lot (N1) on the north end of campus in front of the Belmont Residents Hall and the Walking Stick lots around the Walking Stick Apartments.

Students living in Belmont Residents Hall may park in the N1 lot which is specifically designed for their use. The student must obtain a BRH-Decal (no cost) from the front desk of the residents hall after purchasing a CSU-Pueblo parking permit.

Walking stick apartment residents must show the apartment manager a CSU-Pueblo parking permit at the office and obtain a walking stick decal. BRH and Walking Stick permits will be affixed to the right side of a permanent permit. The decals will be affixed to a hanging permit to the right of the permit number; be sure not to cover anything.

Students may not park in the visitor lot, staff lots (green spaces), or reserved spaces. Students may park in 15 minute loading zones for 15 minutes only and handicap spaces after they register with the parking department.

What if I am handicapped?

You need to register with the parking department. To do this please bring a photo ID, you placard and registration, and proof of a university parking decal to room 118 in the administration building.

What if I get a citation I don’t think I deserve?

Within seven (7) days of receiving the citation bring it to the parking department room 118 of the administration building and a photo ID. You may then explain why you think that the citation is wrong and then an employee will explain the appeals process to you.

What if I lose my permit or it is stolen?

If you have lost your permit or it has been stolen you need to go to the parking department office (Admin 118) and report the permit stolen.
