Provost, Dr. Russ Meyer Welcome to the Academic Affairs Web site. I hope that you will find information here that will better inform you about CSU-Pueblo, our academic programs, faculty, staff, and students. Please know that everyone in my office -- indeed everyone across the entire campus -- is eager to help you find answers to your questions and to insure that your experiences at CSU-Pueblo meet or exceed your expectations. If I can personally help you find information about CSU-Pueblo or enrich your educational experience on our campus, please feel free to contact me. You can reach me by phone at (719) 549-2313, or by e-mail at russ.meyer@colostate-pueblo.edu

The Provost is the chief academic officer of the University and oversees and evaluates all programs directly related to the University's goal to provide the best possible education for every CSU-Pueblo student. The Provost works closely with the deans of each of the individual colleges, Continuing Education, and the library, along with the directors of Student Academic Services, Admissions and Records, and Technical Services. In addition, the Provost is responsible for review and approval of all academic programs and policies as well as the appointment, promotion, and compensation of the faculty.

Russell Meyer, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, joined CSU-Pueblo in 2000 as Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Before coming to CSU-Pueblo, Meyer was chair of the Department of English at Emporia (Kansas) State University and taught and held a variety of administrative positions at universities in Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Texas, and Germany. As Vice President of the Alliance of Universities for Democracy, Meyer has worked with students, faculty, and administrators throughout the U.S. and Central and Eastern Europe. A Spenser scholar, Meyer's recent scholarly activity has been guided mainly by his administrative activities. He has published books on broad topics such as developmental composition and more specific analyses on works such as Edmund Spenser's The Faerie Queene.
