PLP is not only a campus program but a community program as well. PLP scholars provide the Pueblo and Southern Colorado community with service, work, and leadership through engaging in community service projects, internship opportunities, and implementing leadership development seminars to high school students throughout Pueblo. A Community Advisory Board that consists of some of Colorado's top leaders in corporate, civic, and non-profit sectors supports the PLP. The Community Advisory Board identifies mentoring and internship opportunities for scholars, helps scholars gain access to leadership opportunities in the Pueblo community, and raises scholarships and operational support for the program.
