Colorado State-Pueblo/PCC Announce 75th
Anniversary Run accepting applications
PUEBLO
–Registration now is underway for the 7.5 kilometer run/two-mile walk on
July 13 that will kick off the 75th Anniversary Community Celebration at the
Pueblo Community College Orman campus.
The day’s activities will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a 7.5-kilometer run/2-mile
walk that will start and finish on the PCC campus and end with an evening
performance by the Pueblo Municipal Band at 5 p.m. in the outdoor
amphitheater. An awards ceremony for winners of the various categories will
follow the race at 9 a.m. Throughout the day, indoor and outdoor activities
will tempt children and adults of all ages with historical and academic
displays and tours, a car show, art show, games, health fair, etc.
The 7.5K course is flat and fast, starting and finishing on Orman Avenue on
the PCC campus and traversing Dittmer Avenue to City Park before taking
Cleveland Street back to Orman. Runners will make two loops of the park,
while walkers will circle the fountain before heading back via Cleveland.
Race/Walk entry forms are available on the web through the Southern Colorado
Runners website, http://socorunners.org/,
and scroll down to the PCC/CSU-Pueblo 7.5k/2M. Click the entry form link to
get a printable form with all the appropriate information, or merely click
the online registration link to register online. Hard copy entry forms also
are available at the Pueblo YMCA, Gold Dust Saloon, and Almighty Muscle in
Pueblo.
Those who register by July 5 will receive the discount price of $17.50.
After July 5, race fees will be $25. Registration also will be held the day
of the race from 6-7 a.m. in PCC’s outdoor amphitheatre, but the fee will
increase to $30. CSU-Pueblo and PCC employees who register prior to July 5
can participate for $15. All entrants will receive a t-shirt, souvenir item,
post-race refreshments, and a free pancake breakfast. In addition, age-group
awards and special hand-made awards will be presented to the overall top
male and female runners under 40 years old and top male and female masters
runners (over 40).
