Activities offers event to Pueblo Community
Pueblo- The Office of Student
Activities at Colorado State University-Pueblo is serving up a variety of
activities over the next two months from a dating coach and comedy troupe to
concerts that also are open to the Pueblo community. All events are open to
the public at no charge.
America’s most quoted dating expert David Wygant will share his
insights into attracting and approaching individuals at 8 p.m. on March
12 in the Occhiato University Center Ballroom.
Over the course of his career, he has become a sought after media
personality and has been featured as a dating expert on over 2000 radio
shows. On television, Wygant has appeared on E, Dateline, ABC News, CBS Good
Morning, Inside Edition, MTV, Fox News, The Learning Channel, BBC, Blind
Date as well as many other shows. In print, David has been featured in more
than 200 publications such as Maxim, Men's Health, Cosmopolitan, The Los
Angeles Times, The Chicago Daily Herald, The Boston Globe, The Philadelphia
Enquirer, New York Magazine and Marie Claire Magazine. Online, David has
worked with Match.com, Yahoo! Personals, Lavalife and many other dating
sites.
The tunes of the Annabelle Lee Band, will be heard from 11:30 a.m.-2
p.m. on March 13, on the OUC South Patio.
Individually, they are teachers, commercial actors, stand-up comedians,
writers, directors, and respected improve instructors. Together, they are
Laugh Out Loud, an improvisational comedy troupe which will appear at 8
p.m. on March 13 in the Hasan School of Business Auditorium. Their
show includes comedic scenes about college life and the transition from
living with parents to sketches on important issues and policies facing
society. In addition to appearances at universities, high schools, and
corporate training conferences, LOL present weekly improve comedy shows at
their theater in Streets of Woodfield, Schaumburg, Ill.
Hip Hop artist and educator Adrian H. Molina, will present a concert
beginning at 8 p.m. on April 10 in the Belmont Residence Hall Lobby.
His UP BEFORE THE SUNRISE PROJECT centers around the notion that there is an
artist in each of us waiting to rise up out of the shadows and take control
of our voices, our stories, our lives. A self-proclaimed Mexicano/Chicano
from an immigrant, blue-collar background who grew up in a small trailer on
the south side of the tracks, Molina is “an educator, an artist who was
never trained in the arts, and an advocate for the struggles of the
voiceless.” He teaches a variety of courses at the University of Wyoming and
is most passionate about his Chicano Studies, media justice, and hip-hop
studies courses.
