Colorado State University - Pueblo to host
High School Honor String Quartet
Pueblo- The Veronika String Quartet,
artists-in-residence at Colorado State University-Pueblo will host the
inaugural High School Honor String Quartet from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday,
January 19. The festival is open to all Colorado high school string students
who perform in an existing chamber ensemble. Ensembles will include trio,
quartet, quintet, and sextet.
The festival will include coaching, rehearsals, and the screening of a video
of this world famous string quartet. Lunch will be provided followed by a
master class with the quartet. The student quartets will perform a free
concert at 3 p.m. in Hoag Recital Hall. This concert will be recorded and
each ensemble will receive a copy of their performance. Students may apply
with a recommendation from their music teacher or coach. Applications.
Applications are currently being accepted and must be postmarked by January
8 accompanied by a refundable $15 deposit. Once the space available for 12
ensembles is filled, applications no longer will be accepted.
