Colorado State University – Pueblo offices sponsor 4th annual Military Donation Drive

Pueblo-
The Colorado State University-Pueblo Parking Department and The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office are now accepting donations to the 4th Annual Military Donation Drive.
The drive will benefit the Army National Guard unit of 24-year-old Sergeant Jennifer Marie Rockmore, a CSU-Pueblo student and Pueblo resident. A senior biology and chemistry major, Jennifer was on track to graduate in May when she was deployed to Iraq after becoming a certified pharmacy technician. Upon her return, she will pursue her dream of becoming a pharmacist.
Rockmore’s unit consists of 560 soldiers from Utah, Minnesota, and Nebraska based out of Buckley Air Force Base in Colorado. Prior to being deployed to Iraq for a year, the unit spent the last six months at Ft. Hood, Texas for pre-mobilization.
All donations collected will be sent to Sgt. Rockmore and her unit to make Christmas overseas a little more bearable. Items needed include: toothpaste, Listerine, coffee & creamer, sugar/Equal, movies, stationary (no stamps needed), beef jerky, dried fruit, gummy candy, phone cards, battery operated fans, lanterns, picture frames, freezer pops, radios, chap-stick, calendars, USB sticks, shaving cream, and body wash (No canned or boxed goods, please.)
You may also write letters of support and encouragement to the unit to be sent with the items collected. The deadline for contributions is Friday, Nov. 17. Donations should be delivered to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office at CSU-Pueblo, located in the Administration 118. A drop-off box also will be available downtown at the main office of the Pueblo Sheriff’s Department, 909 Court St. Donations will be shipped the week of Thanksgiving Break to ensure delivery to the troops by Christmas.
