Colorado State University – Pueblo to
promote smoke-free lifestyle at Smokeout event
Pueblo- Feel the freedom of being tobacco free or help someone else
escape the addictive stronghold as part of Great American Smokeout
activities on Nov. 16 at Colorado State University - Pueblo. For years,
people have come together on this day to make new decisions about living
smoke free.
Student member of TLC (Tackling Life’s Choices) and CSU-Pueblo’s EXHP 485
Health Promotion class will help others take a “Tobacco-Free Leap” with
programming from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Occhiato University Center.
Participants can test their tobacco IQ, win prizes, get free information for
you or a friend, or sign up for a smoking cessation class.
“The Great American Smokeout is an-annual event held to remind smokers and
non-smokers about the effective strategies for quitting smoking and reasons
to not start smoking,” said Carol Foust, chair of exercise science and
health promotion. “Our desire is to provide education and tools that will
motivate individuals to start a plan with the resources available to them,
both on and off campus.”
The Great American Smokeout activities and events will promote instructions
on walking away from tobacco and running to a healthy lifestyle. The
objective of this campaign is to remind students and their peers that life
without tobacco is a healthy choice.
