Colorado State University – Pueblo Business Series to discuss Business Improvement

The Hasan School of Business at Colorado State University – Pueblo will host Jack Rink, manufacturing and service consultant to numerous Fortune 500 companies and former president of Pueblo District 60 Board of Education, in the first of three talks in the 2006-07 Distinguished Speaker Series.
Rink will discuss “Business Improvement in the 21st Century” beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 16, in the Hasan School of Business Auditorium.
Before becoming a consultant, Rink spent 24 years in operations and engineering with Trane Company. He will address the unprecedented business challenges of the 21st century; radical approaches to old problems; how Pueblo will fare in the new world business environment; and what Pueblo can do to thrive.
The event is open to the public at no charge. Refreshments will be served following the lecture. For reservations, please call 549-2142.

Jack Rink serves as a consultant to manufacturing and service companies with an emphasis on leading edge business improvement techniques. Current clients include Fortune 500 companies in the fields of medical products, automotive, food products and construction with locations in the US, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Europe, and Asia.

Prior to consulting, Rink spent 24 years in operations and engineering roles with Trane Company, the world's leading manufacturer of commercial air conditioning. He held positions as Engineering Manager, Advanced Manufacturing Manager and Operations Manager at several facilities and played a leadership role in the Greenfield start-up of the Trane-Pueblo operation. The Pueblo facility grew to almost 1,000 employees over a period of seven years and is the world’s largest producer of helical rotor refrigeration compressors and chillers.

From 1997 to 2003, Rink served on the Pueblo District 60 Board of Education including a two-year term as president. He earned a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin.
