CSU Board of Governors Approves CSU-Pueblo Tuition, Budget for 2006-2007 School Year
Pueblo- The Board of Governors of the Colorado State University System
today approved a $31 million educational and general budget for CSU-Pueblo
for 2006-07 that includes an increase of 1.6 percent to the university’s
total tuition revenue – a total approved by the state Legislature earlier
this year.
The plan includes a 2.5 percent or $36 per semester increase for resident
undergraduates at the Pueblo campus. Full-time, per-semester tuition will
increase to $1,487 from $1,451.
There will be no increase to either graduate or non-resident tuition rates.
“This is a modest increase that will help Colorado State University-Pueblo
improve the quality of education of its students while keeping tuition very
low,” said Larry Edward Penley, chancellor of the Colorado State University
System.
The budget includes money for new scholarships, three new faculty positions,
equity salary adjustments for some faculty and staff and enhanced enrollment
and recruitment efforts.
“All of these increases will improve the quality of education and directly
help students and faculty at CSU-Pueblo,” Penley said.
The campus continues moving forward in the search for a new president.
Earlier this week, the presidential search committee recommended two
finalists for the Colorado State University-Pueblo presidency to the Board
of Governors. Current CSU-Pueblo President Ron Applbaum announced in October
that he would resume his career as a faculty member following completion of
his four-year contract in July.
