CSU–Pueblo seeks applicants for new Applbaum merit scholarship

Pueblo-
While President Ron Applbaum will complete his term as President of Colorado State University – Pueblo this summer and become a faculty member this fall, his name will live on through the Ronald and Susan Applbaum CSU-Pueblo Scholarship, which now is accepting applications for the Fall 2006 semester. The Applbaums received news of the scholarship established in their honor at the President’s Scholarship Gala last month.

The scholarship will cover resident tuition and fees, be awarded annually to a full-time resident or non-resident student, and is renewable for up to four years if the student maintains at least a 3.25 grade point average. The scholarship will be presented no later than August 1 of each year. This year’s application deadline is June 30.

The scholarship will be offered to a high school graduate or undergraduate student with a minimum grade point average of 3.5 who has completed the required pre-collegiate curriculum of three years of science and math and four years of English. Eligible students must pursue a degree in business, mass communication, engineering, chemistry, mathematics, biology, or nursing.
Students interested in applying for the scholarship must submit a high school transcript or current college transcript and an essay of no more than 1,000 words (typed) on why they should be awarded the merit scholarship for study in their major area of study. Applications should be submitted to the CSU-Pueblo Foundation Office, Attn: Applbaum Scholarship, 324 Administration, 2200 Bonforte Blvd., Pueblo, CO 81001.
