CSU–Pueblo seeks applicants for new Applbaum merit scholarship
Pueblo- While President Ron Applbaum will complete his term as President
of Colorado State University – Pueblo this summer and become a faculty
member this fall, his name will live on through the Ronald and Susan
Applbaum CSU-Pueblo Scholarship, which now is accepting applications for the
Fall 2006 semester. The Applbaums received news of the scholarship
established in their honor at the President’s Scholarship Gala last month.
The scholarship will cover resident tuition and fees, be awarded annually to
a full-time resident or non-resident student, and is renewable for up to
four years if the student maintains at least a 3.25 grade point average. The
scholarship will be presented no later than August 1 of each year. This
year’s application deadline is June 30.
The scholarship will be offered to a high school graduate or undergraduate
student with a minimum grade point average of 3.5 who has completed the
required pre-collegiate curriculum of three years of science and math and
four years of English. Eligible students must pursue a degree in business,
mass communication, engineering, chemistry, mathematics, biology, or
nursing.
Students interested in applying for the scholarship must submit a high
school transcript or current college transcript and an essay of no more than
1,000 words (typed) on why they should be awarded the merit scholarship for
study in their major area of study. Applications should be submitted to the
CSU-Pueblo Foundation Office, Attn: Applbaum Scholarship, 324
Administration, 2200 Bonforte Blvd., Pueblo, CO 81001.
