CSU-Pueblo presents Grammy-award winner West in concert

Pueblo-
Colorado State University – Pueblo and its Student Activities Board will present Grammy-award winning hip hop artist Kanye West as its spring concert on Thursday, April 27 at the Colorado State Fairgrounds Events Center.

Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster, www.ticketmaster.com, or through the State Fair Events Center Box Office, 719-404-2070. All students currently enrolled at CSU-Pueblo will receive one free ticket, which they may pick up at tables stationed across campus. Students should check their campus e-mail to find the locations and times for ticket distribution. Tickets for non-students are $25 each (+$2 State Fair fees and/or possible Ticketmaster charges).

The 28-year-old is arguably the most important creative force in hip-hop music today, recently named to Time Magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world. Since the release of his critically acclaimed debut The College Dropout, the rapper/producer/hi-hop icon has been at the top of the charts and at the top of his game. From the red carpet of the 47th Grammys – where he topped all nominees with a historic 10 nods and took home awards for best Rap Album, Best rap Song, and Best R&B Song – to the millions of albums sold, and his presence on MTV, BET, CNN, and radio stations nationwide, West has grown from an artist you watch to an artist you experience. He is a four-time Billboard Music Award winner, including rap Artist of the Year. He was the 2004 World Music Award Recipient for the World’s Best New Male Artist. Last year alone, he graced the covers of Time and Rolling Stone magazines.

West is many things – a producer, a tastemaker, a rapper, a video director, the CEO of his new label Getting Out Our Dreams (G.O.O.D), but he is first and foremost an artist with an uncompromising vision, which is what sent him back to the studio to work on new material, which has found its way onto his highly anticipated new album, Late Registration. The new album features a line-up of guests, including Jay-Z, Jamie Foxx, Paul Wall, Cam’ron, Adam Levine of Maroon Five and his longtime friend and collaborator John Legend.
