Comedy Hypnotist of the Year to put trance on CSU-Pueblo students next week

Pueblo- Comedy hypnotist C.J. Johnson will illustrate the power of the human mind and the hilarious situations that an altered state of consciousness can create when he brings his unique brand of entertainment to the Colorado State University-Pueblo campus next week.
Johnson will invite volunteers from the audience to experience a wide variety of phenomenon as part of his presentation beginning at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14 in the Occhiato University Center. Admission is free. Doors open about 30 minutes prior to the show. Those who want to volunteer to be hypnotized are encouraged to show up early.

Volunteers may be unable to remember their own names, may believe they are drill sergeants, crocodile hunters, or even members of a boy band while under his spell, but will have no memory of what happened on stage when he sends them back into the audience. After five minutes, the volunteers will regain the memory of the on-stage experiences.

“I try to work a good clean show, and I don’t steer routines in directions that are embarrassing,” he said. “My goal is to make people superstars for the night, not to make them look like fools.”
Johnson was a featured act with the Brooks & Dunn Neon Circus & Wild West Show, which also featured some of the hottest country music acts working today, including Rascal Flatts, Brad Paisley, Aaron Lines, and Cledus T. Judd. The tour played 38 cities nationwide. His other credits include appearances on Showtime television, CMT’s “Most Wanted Live,” CBS and Fox TV. He was voted Hypnotist of the Year by college campuses nationwide.

Johnson is the author of more than a dozen books and CDs on the topic of entertainment and hypnosis. Several self-hypnosis CDs will be available after the show or at his humorous web site, www.SleepWithCJ.com. He lives in the hill country outside of Austin, Texas with his wife, three sons, and several pets (dogs, cats, and goats).
