Colorado State University - Pueblo
will host an additional 100 soldiers returning from Iraq
Pueblo- Colorado State University – Pueblo will host an additional
100 soldiers returning from tours of duty in Iraq beginning this evening
(August 4) at approximately 6:30 p.m. Segments of the latest group will be
on campus through August 13. The community response in terms of donations
and hospitality to the first group of soldiers was overwhelming and
appreciated. We encourage continued support and encouragement of this final
group.
Donations of cash, goods (food, gift and phone cards, reading materials,
etc.), or services (transportation, haircuts, etc.) should be directed to
John Toth, Finance Manager, Auxiliary and Athletic Services, at 549-2943 or
549-2149. The University asks that companies or individuals refrain from
dropping items off at the residence hall unannounced. Businesses also should
not attempt to solicit these soldiers.
Col. Michael Resty Jr., Fort Carson’s garrison commander, will present a
certificate of appreciation to University President Ron Applbaum and staff
who have been involved in the care of the troops at 1 p.m. on Tuesday,
August 9 in the Hearthwell Lounge of the Occhiato University Center.
