Colorado State University – Pueblo and community host visitors from Chinese University

Pueblo- A team of representatives from Ningxia University in Yinchuan, the capital city of Ningxia, will meet with groups from Colorado State University – Pueblo and various community organizations as part of a four-day tour of the area.

Founded in 1958, Ningxia University has an enrollment of nearly 19,000 students in 14 colleges. It claims more than 50,000 graduates of different specialties both in and out of the region. The University takes an active part in academic exchanges and collaborations with other countries and has established partnerships with more than 20 countries. Visiting scholars and students both have been exchanged. CSU-Pueblo has a written agreement in effect with Ningxia University and seeks students and faculty interested in exchange opportunities.

The visitors from Ningxia University will include Yuning Chen, President; Jiming Gao, Director of President's Office; Jianmin Cheng, Dean of School of Agriculture; Longtang Li, Vice Dean of School of Resources & Environment, and Hong Li, Deputy Director of Office of Domestic & Foreign Affairs.

On Saturday and Sunday (July 9 and 10), they will tour a variety of area attractions, including Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods and the Royal Gorge with Jacob Chi, CSU-Pueblo Professor of music, and his wife, Lin Chang, CSU-Pueblo Director of Institutional Research, as their hosts and guides.

On Monday (July 11), the group will meet with CSU-Pueblo deans, faculty, and administrators before attending a noon Rotary Club meeting at La Renaissance following by a campus tour.

The group from China will be immersed in the community on Tuesday (July 12) with tours of the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center, Rosemont Museum, El Pueblo Museum as well as a meeting with County Commissioners and City Council members in the Country Commission Chambers at 3 p.m.
