Colorado State University – Pueblo announces summer bridge program for minorities

Pueblo- Colorado State University - Pueblo and the Colorado Alliance for Minority Participation (CO-AMP) announce a one-week summer bridge program in July for minority students entering college in the fall of 2005 intending to major in science, math, engineering, or technology. Transfer students also are welcome.

The program starts Sunday, July 31 with an afternoon check-in and reception for parents. The program ends the afternoon of Thursday, August 4. During the program, students are encouraged to live in CSU-Pueblo residence hall; talk with professors in science, math, engineering, and technology and tour labs; receive an introduction to academic majors and the advising system; tour a local company to learn about jobs in these fields; experience a “mini course” with reading, lecture, homework, and quiz; and participate in recreational activities with CSU-Pueblo students. Students pay only $50 for the program.
Students who complete the program will receive one credit hour of academic credit and will learn valuable skills to help ensure success in college.
While the program is targeted at minority students, all students are welcome to apply. Students must be intending to major in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
