Colorado State University – Pueblo Alumni Announce Summer Rafting, Rockies Events

Pueblo- All Colorado State University - Pueblo alumni, faculty, staff and friends are invited to a weekend of outdoor adventure in July and an evening of baseball at Coors Field in August.

A multi-day whitewater rafting/camping trip, offered by the CSU-Pueblo Alumni Association in conjunction with the University’s Experiential Learning Center, will begin with transportation from CSU-Pueblo at 7 a.m. on Saturday, July 16 to a full day of riding the Class III Brown’s Canyon rapids followed by camping at Rock-n-Row’s base camp in Cotopaxi. Day two for those aged 16 and over only takes rafters through 12 miles of Class IV Royal Gorge rapids and 1,100-foot canyon walls beneath the world’s largest suspension bridge.

Participants may choose the one-day raft and camp for $110; 1½-day raft and camp for $150; or the two-day raft and camp for $195. All meals, entertainment and gear are provided. Transportation is offered only for those on the 2-day raft and camp. On Saturday, August 13, CSU-Pueblo alumni, faculty, staff and friends are invited to bring the family to Coors Field to watch the Colorado Rockies take on the Washington Nationals. A $30 per person cost includes midfield box game tickets on the 1st base line (section 117) and transportation from CSU-Pueblo. The ThunderBus leaves campus at 2 p.m.; Rockies take the mound at 6:05 p.m. Tickets are limited, so reserve your spot now by calling the Alumni Office at 719.549.2858.
