Colorado State University – Pueblo
announces ASG election results
Pueblo-The results from the 2005 Associated Students’ Government (ASG)
elections at Colorado State University – Pueblo held April 13 and 14 were
announced last week.
ASG is a student-run government entity that promotes student affairs on
campus and in the state, through student body member representatives. ASG
members work with departments on campus to accomplish student life events
and community projects. Recent projects include a total reorganization of
the Student Senate and the rewriting of the Constitution and Bylaws and
Election Codes, Rake Up Pueblo, and a $2,000 contribution to the Women’s
Walk for Athletics.
Ike Lucero, Jr., a junior (Pueblo) with a double major in psychology and
computer information systems, was elected President. Elected Vice President
for Finance and Administration was Matthew Martinez, a junior (Pueblo)
double majoring in sociology and psychology.
Clayton “Bobby” Klein, a freshman (Portland, Ore.), in pre-business, was
elected Vice President for Legislative Affairs. Michael G. Martinez, Jr., a
senior majoring in computer information systems (Pueblo), will fill the
Senator At-Large position, serving as Pro Tem of the Senate.
Marc Boone, a degree plus English major (Pueblo), will serve as Senator of
Recreational Affairs, while Erica Contreras, a freshman pre-nursing major
(Firestone, Colo.), will serve as Senator of Student Activities. Elected
Senator of Greek Life is senior mass communications major (Pueblo) Charity
R. Green, and elected Senator of Clubs and Organizations Funding Policies
and Procedures is Blake Bartlett, a freshman mass communications major
(Loveland, Colo.).
Jacob Barger, an undeclared freshman (Pueblo West), and Daryl Burks, a
freshman majoring in English (Pueblo), will fill the two Senate seats for
the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Joshua Birchfield, a sophomore pre-business major (Pueblo), and Amy
Crawford, a freshman pre-business major (Gunnison), will fill the two Senate
seats representing the Hasan School of Business.
Sophomore chemistry major (Trinidad, Colo.) Jason Commander will fill one of
two Senate seats representing the College of Science and Mathematics.
One Senate seat representing the College of Science and Mathematics remains
vacant as well as two Senate seats representing the College of Education,
Engineering, and Professional Studies. CSU-Pueblo students interested in
