Colorado State University - Pueblo plans
more Physics for Fun Seminars
Pueblo- The gamma knife and the relationship between climate and
vegetation will be the focus of the next two Physics for Fun seminars this
month sponsored by the Physics Department at Colorado State University –
Pueblo.
Dr. Samuel Levis, a climatologist at the National Center for Atmospheric
Research (NCAR) Climate and Global Dynamics Division, will discuss how
vegetation responds to climate, and in return, climate responds to changes
in vegetation beginning at noon on Thursday, April 14.
The following week, Andres Jimenez, a CSU-Pueblo graduating physics student,
will present a talk on the physics involved in the so-called Gamma Knife,
which is used in medicine to treat tumors and other conditions. His
presentation will take place on Thursday, April 21.
Both seminars are scheduled between noon and 12:50 p.m. in Physics/Math 103.
The public is invited to attend both free lectures. For additional
