CSU – Pueblo announces Experiential Learning Center’s ‘Rocktober’ schedule  
       
Pueblo-
 The October schedule for the Experiential Learning Center (ELC) at Colorado State University – Pueblo includes everything from wilderness first aid to kayaking and mountain biking tours. ELC offers trips and workshops that provide access to outdoor activities at a reasonable cost. All events are open to CSU-Pueblo students first, but then may be filled to capacity by interested CSU-Pueblo faculty, staff, alumni, and community members. Prices for the events vary depending on the type of activity, location, and length of experience.

October 4
Intramural Flag Football season begins! Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

October 5
Intramural Soccer Season begins! Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

October 6
Intramural Volleyball Season begins! Mondays and Wednesdays from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

October 9
Mountain Biking Palmer Park, Colorado Springs, Colo. This event will begin at 10 a.m. and is scheduled to end at 4 p.m. The ELC will provide transportation. The cost is $5.

October 14
Kayak Pool Session, CSU-Pueblo pool. This event takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $5.

October 16 - 17
Wilderness Medicine Institute: Wilderness First Aid. This two-day seminar will take place in the Blue Spruce Room of the Occhiato University Center at CSU-Pueblo. Sign in takes place at &:45 on Saturday, October 16 (Prior registration is required). Cost is $75 for CSU-Pueblo students and $125 for non-students

October 21
Ping Pong/Pool Tournament at the Underground in the Occhiato University Center. This free event will take place from 7 p.m. to midnight.

October 23 and 24
Climbing/ Mountain Biking Trip to Shelf Road in Canon City, Colo. This event will be held from 9 a.m. Saturday, October 23 to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 24. Transportation will be provided through the ELC. Equipment will be available for rent. The cost for this event is $20.

October 23
Horse Back Riding at Rock and Row in Salida, Colo, 9.a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Transportation will be provided through the ELC. The cost is $15.

October 28
Paper football tournament at the Underground in the Occhiato University Center. This event will take place from 7 p.m. to midnight and is free.

October 30
Family Day at Pueblo Mountain Park in Beulah, Colo., will begin at 8 a.m. This day trip will include hiking and learning about nature. Other activities and the cost for this outing have not been determined yet. Transportation will be provided by the ELC.

October 30
Pumpkin Carving Contest. Details for this fun event have not been determined yet.

ELC activities provide participants with an opportunity to develop leadership skills, learn lifelong wilderness skills, increase interpersonal skills, and expand appreciation and concern for the environment.
