Colorado State University-Pueblo announces
Southern Colorado Reading Series
Pueblo- The English and Foreign Language Departments at Colorado
State University-Pueblo will present the Southern Colorado Reading Series
this fall featuring recognized authors and poets.
Memoirist Anna Cypra Oliver will present the first reading in the series at
2 p.m. on Sunday, September 12 in the INFOZONE at the Robert Hoag Rawlings
Library.
Oliver’s first book, “Assembling my father: A daughter’s detective story,”
was published this summer. She holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in
creative writing from the University of Minnesota.
The second reading will feature poet John Latham at 7 p.m. on Thursday,
October 7 in the Associated Student Government Chambers in the Occhiato
University Center.
Latham, a Colorado poet, has published five collections of poetry. His
newest collection, Sailor Boy, is expected to be published by the Collective
Press in 2005. He has worked extensively in schools and has led many
poetry-writing workshops. His first novel, Ditch-Crawl, will be published
this fall.
Dates for additional readings in the series will be forthcoming.
CSU-Pueblo’s English and Foreign Language Department and the Hungry Eye, a
student-run publication, are sponsoring the Southern Colorado Reading
Series.
