CSU-Pueblo Experiential Learning
Center Announces 2004-05 Events Calender
Pueblo- Whether you enjoy treacherous trails, steep slopes, rough
waters, or want to learn how to snowshoe or survive in the wilderness, the
Experiential Learning Center (ELC) at Colorado State University-Pueblo has a
course planned just for you. Whether you prefer skiing at Monarch or Copper
Mountain, biking the North Fork Trail, ice climbing at Silver Cascade Falls,
or kayaking on Lake Pueblo, ELC has something for everyone.
New ELC Director Scott Robertshaw has announced the schedule of events for
the 2004-05 academic year. The Experiential Learning Center offers trips and
workshops that provide maximum access to outdoor activities at a reasonable
cost. Activities provide participants with an opportunity to develop
leadership skills, learn lifelong wilderness skills, increase interpersonal
skills, and expand appreciation and concern for the environment. ELC’s
programs are open to CSU-Pueblo students first, but then may be filled to
capacity by interested CSU-Pueblo faculty, staff, alumni, and community
members. Prices of the program vary depending on the type of activity,
location, and length of experience.
“We try to incorporate into our outdoor program, challenges that will
attract individuals of all ages,” said Robertshaw. “We strive to stimulate
participants’ minds while challenging their bodies, to test their will as
well as their endurance.”
