Tri Beta Biology Club at CSU-Pueblo
Hosts Two-Day Biology Research Conference
Pueblo -- Faculty and
students from eight schools in Colorado and Utah will present research on
biological issues during the two-day Western District One conference hosted by
the Tri Beta Biology Club at Colorado State University - Pueblo today and
Saturday, April 3.
Registration will take place in the Foyer of the Life Science Building from 3 to
5 p.m. on Friday. Dinner will follow at the Pueblo Union Depot at 6 p.m. A
presentation on pulmonary and sleep medicine by Dr. Craig Shapiro will round out
the evening's event at 7:30 p.m.
The conference will continue Saturday with more oral and visual presentations in
the morning and field trips to the Pueblo Reservoir and Fish Hatchery and Pueblo
Nature and Raptor centers in the afternoon.
The event will conclude with a banquet and awards presentation at 6:30 p.m. in
the Occhiato University Center Ballroom. Paul Barnes, project manager for Earth
Tech at the Pueblo Chemical Depot will give a presentation entitled,
"Trends in the Use of Biotechnology for Environmental Cleanup."
