CSU - Pueblo alum to speak at "Latinas in Education"

University- Pueblo Women's Colloquia Series presents Latinas in Education and
Society beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 5 at the El Pueblo History Museum.
This event is free and open to the public.
The featured speaker will be CSU- Pueblo alumna Bernadette Garcia, who works for
the CU Boulder Physics and Space Grant Program. Garcia earned a bachelor's
degree in music and women's studies from CSU-Pueblo in 1999 and a master's
degree in education from the University of Colorado in 2003.
The presentation will explore gender, class, race and language issues of rural
Southern Colorado, 1920-1945, faced by eight Huerfano County women of mixed
Latin ancestry, as well as the current status of oral history in higher
education.
