Former State Senator Thiebaut to teach this fall at CSU - Pueblo

University- Pueblo is proud to welcome former Colorado state senator William
Thiebaut to the teaching staff this fall. Thiebaut will bring his extensive
experience in Colorado politics to his role as a Visiting Professor of Political
Science.
"Having Mr. Thiebaut's extensive experience and direct political knowledge
available to our students adds another dimension to our already strong political
science program," said Dr. Russ Meyer, Dean of the College of Humanities
and Social Sciences. "It gives students a chance to study with a seasoned
politician, one who understands both the theory and the reality of politics.
Perhaps more importantly, it gives Mr. Thiebaut the opportunity to share his
knowledge and enthusiasm for education as well as the political process with a
new generation of students."
Thiebaut will teach the following courses this fall:
PS 200 Understanding Human Conflict MWF 11-11:50 p.m.
PS 201 Comparative Politics MWF 1-1:50 p.m.
PS 320 Legal Research Methods Th 5:30-8:20 p.m.
PS 322 American Constitutional Law W 5:30-8:20 p.m.
Mr. Thiebaut is an attorney, who served as Colorado state senator from 1993
through 2003. He was considered one of the most liberal members of the Colorado
General Assembly with a strong support base of unions, trial lawyers, and the
ACLU, and ran as the Lieutenant Governor candidate with Rollie Heath in the 2002
Gubernatorial Race. He and his wife, Mary Ann, are the parents of 15 children.
