CSU - Pueblo names Brandt as new alumni director

Pueblo -- The newest member of Colorado State University -Pueblo's advancement team brings enthusiasm as well as marketing and special events experience in a return to her alma mater as Director of Alumni Relations.

According to Cora Zaletel, Executive Director of Development and Communications, Laura Brandt was selected from a pool of nearly 50 applicants and will begin her duties on August 12. As Alumni Director, Brandt will provide vision and leadership for programs and activities that engage and meet the needs of more than 35,000 alumni. She will plan and administer comprehensive local and national programs to involve alumni across the country in an effort to foster dedication and financial support. Responsibilities include serving as the university liaison and secretary to the Alumni Association Board of Directors and working closely with the Alumni Board and the CSU-Pueblo Foundation Board of Directors to develop and execute creative strategies to benefit the University, its programs, services, and students. In addition, she will maintain and develop various alumni benefit programs and serve as part of a creative team for production of University advertising and publications, including the alumni magazine, the Communique.

"I have known Laura to be a tremendous ambassador and advocate for the University in her work in the Pueblo community. Her passion for her alma mater is evident, and her enthusiasm is contagious. That combination bodes well for developing stronger relationships with constituents both on and off campus," Zaletel said.

Since May of 2002, Brandt has served as Director of Membership and Marketing for the Latino Chamber of Commerce in Pueblo, where she developed and marketed numerous programs and special events for a diverse membership of individuals, small businesses, and major corporations. She also has served as a marketing consultant to numerous community organizations.

A native of Portage, Mich., Brandt is no stranger to the University. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology as well as a Master of Business Administration from CSU-Pueblo. A 2003 graduate of Leadership Pueblo, Brandt serves as President-Elect of the Pueblo Business Women's Network and Vice President of the Cesar Chavez Academy Parent Association Board.
