CSU - Pueblo celebrates name change with postal cancellation
Pueblo -- It's official. The University
of Southern Colorado becomes Colorado State University-Pueblo today. The U.S.
Post Office will recognize the transformation with a commemorative postmark
available on campus.
CSU-Pueblo President Ron Applbaum and C.W. Smith, member of the Colorado State
University System Board of Governors, along with members of the campus and
community will make the first cancellation beginning at 8 a.m. in the Occhiato
University Center Great Hall.
A public reception in the Great Hall will offer cake and punch as part of the
name change celebration beginning at 10 a.m. The July 4 Community Celebration
beginning on campus at
2 p.m. Friday, July 4 and ending with the Pueblo Symphony and Sertoma Fireworks
that evening will provide yet another venue to herald in the new name. Campus
parking on July 4 will be $3 per vehicle. Parking at the Pueblo Mall and shuttle
service to campus via bus also is available at $1 per person (5 and under free).
