Colorado Music Fest 10th anniversary features July 4th fireworks extravaganza

Pueblo -- Music Fest X at Colorado State University-Pueblo will celebrate 10 years of music education and performance with exceptional talent, special events, music camps, and a July 4th fireworks extravaganza.

The all-day Fourth of July festival is free with a nominal parking fee and will feature eight local performances and a special appearance by the Pueblo District 60 Chorale and musical theater. Local restaurants will offer "A Taste of Pueblo" with a variety of food and refreshments. The biggest fireworks display in Pueblo County in conjunction with Sertoma Club will be accompanied by the Pueblo Symphony to cap off the evening.

Music Fest X kicks off at 7:30.m.this Friday (June 23) at Hoag Recital Hall with a special piano concert featuring Russian impresario Elena Balabanova and Greg Adams. The four Music Fest X children's concerts scheduled for Monday evenings in July will include bluegrass, hip-hop, Hispanic, blues, folk, jazz and symphony music. As part of the Fest, artists from around the world will perform at CSU-Pueblo as well as the Union Depot and Historic Arkansas River Walk.
