Pueblo -- The University of Southern
Colorado will offer evening courses in Spanish this summer targeting the
professional community who may be unable to attend regularly scheduled classes.
From May 12 to June 19, Beginning Spanish I will be offered Monday through
Thursday, from 5:30 to 8:15 p.m. in 220 Psychology. The course will include
developing skills in speaking, reading, and writing, as well as an introduction
to Hispanic Culture.
Interest in the course has been expressed by members of the Latino Chamber of
Commerce, teachers from District 60 and professionals in the court system,
according to Dora Luz Cobian, course instructor and coordinator of the Spanish
program.
"If the course is well received," said Cobian, "we will make
every effort to continue offering Spanish courses in the evening."
