Water Forum contest winners named at University of Southern Colorado

Pueblo -- The Arkansas River Basin Water Forum sixth annual photography, art, poetry, and essay contests winners were announced at the annual forum (on Thursday, March 27) in the Occhiato University Center Ballroom at the University of Southern Colorado.

All entries were related in some way to this year's forum theme: "Watering Your Future." Entries were accepted in the following divisions:
Open Photography: Color, B/W, any size prints, no slides. 1st prize $100, 2nd prize $50, 3rd prize $25. Winning photograph will appear on the Forum Web page. Elementary, Middle School, High School: Art (any medium), Essay, Poetry. 1st prize $15, 2nd prize $10, 3rd prize $5 in each division.

Winners of the sixth annual Arkansas River Basin Water Forum are as follows:

1ST place- Chris Prado, Centennial High School, Pueblo
2ND place- Susan Ammons, Pueblo
3RD place-Charlotte Burrous, Florence
Honorable Mention-Mary Hall, Pueblo School for the Arts and Sciences

K-12 ART
1ST place -Hunter Gable, Avery Parsons Elementary School, Buena Vista
2ND place-Kimberly Pearson, Pueblo School for Arts and Sciences
3RD place -Cody Hernandez, Pueblo School for Arts and Sciences
Honorable Mention: Shelby Sears, Emily Asbury, Pueblo School for Arts and Sciences

K-12 POETRY
1ST place- Andrea Denney, Centennial High School, Pueblo
2ND place-Whitney Huber, Pueblo School for the Arts and Sciences
3RD place- Brayton Sandoval, South Park Elementary, Pueblo

K-12 ESSAY
1ST place - Heather Lambert, Centennial High School, Pueblo
2ND place -Monika De Cordova, Centennial High School, Pueblo
3RD place -Katy Baker and Chrystal Mobbley, Centennial High School, Pueblo
