USC hosts three-part Symposium
featuring the War on Iraq
Pueblo -- A moderated three-part
symposium titled "U.S. Foreign Policy& the War on Iraq: Informed
Citizenry for Active Participation" will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. each
evening, March 11 through March 13, in the Occhiato University Center Cotton
Room at the University of Southern Colorado.
The event will feature discussions by USC political science professors and
representatives of the local religious community. Sponsored by the USC Student
Activity Board and Catholic Campus Ministry, the symposium is free and open to
the public.
Part I of the symposium on Tuesday, March 11, is titled "U.S. Foreign
Policy and War on Iraq: What is the Policy and its Rationale? Supporting
Evidence?"
The subject for Part II on Wednesday, March 12, will be "Religious &
Ethical Analysis of U.S. Policy on Iraq: Who Gains, Who Loses? Just War or
Not?"
Part III on Thursday, March 13 will feature a roundtable dialogue and debate
moderated by Gary Dukes, USC Dean of Student Life, including a panel of students
and community members who participated in the two previous evening
presentations.
