University of Southern Colorado announces commencement speaker Pueblo -- U.S. Representative Scott McInnis (R-CO)
will address the University of Southern Colorado (USC) Class of 2003 on May 3 as
part of spring graduation ceremonies. Last week, McInnis announced his efforts
to secure more than $900,000 to improve the computer and technology

Commencement ceremonies will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 3 at the Colorado

Currently serving his sixth term representing the Third Congressional District,
McGinnis is a fourth generation native of Colorado. He began public service as a

committee, the panel of jurisdiction on tax, trade, Social Security, and
Medicare issues that's widely considered the most powerful in Congress. He also
serves as chairman for the House Resources' Subcommittee on Forests and Forest
Health.
In 1996, he was named an advisor to the parliamentary arm of the North Atlantic
Treaty Organization (NATO) where he has worked closely with the administration
and Congress in promoting America's national security interests at home and
abroad.
McInnis earned his bachelor's degree from Fort Lewis College in Durango and a
law degree from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. He and his wife,
Lori, have three children. They reside in Grand Junction, Colo.
