President's Leadership Program at the University of Southern Colorado
Pueblo -- The President's Leadership Program (PLP) at the University of
Southern Colorado will kick off its Partners in Leadership Program with a dinner
on at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9, in the Occhiato University Center Ballroom on
the USC campus.
The Partners in Leadership Program provides an opportunity for community
organizations and companies to get directly involved with the program.
Opportunities to develop internships, community service projects, lecture
program support, and scholarship support for and with the scholars will be
addressed.
PLP is a four-year academic leadership program that develops leaders to serve
Colorado and the communities in which they live and work. PLP is one of USC's
answer to Pueblo and Southern Colorado's growing need for competent and
effective leadership entering the workforce after college. PLP scholars work and
learn in community, educational, and corporate settings to develop their
leadership skills throughout their participation in the four-year program. The
scholars receive a $1,000 merit-based scholarship each semester of their
four-year college career. The PLP program currently includes 43 students,
representing 15 majors and all of the University's four colleges.
