Pueblo -- The University of Southern Colorado will honor veteran students,
faculty, and alumni at the 10th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony to be held at 11
a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, at the Southeast Asia Memorial near the center of
campus. A continental breakfast will precede the ceremony at 10:30 a.m. in the
Occhiato University Center West Ballroom. More than 300 USC students have served
our nation in some branch of the Armed Forces.
USC President Ronald Applbaum and retired Air Force Major Donald Spano will
provide remarks. The honor guard for the ceremony will be Pueblo East High
School's Junior ROTC. They will present the Colorado, United Nations, USC and
POW/MIA flags. The American flag will be presented by the USC/University of
Colorado-Colorado Springs ROTC Color Guard.
Musical accompaniment will be by USC Artist-in-Residence Al Eberhardt, who will
play reveille/first call and taps, and the USC Choir, which will perform the
National Anthem and America the Beautiful.
Robert Tucker, SGT USAF, Honorably Discharged, and Michael McPherson, SPC US
Army, Honorably Discharged, will perform the traditional placing of the wreath.
