PSAS sponsors Empty Bowls Nite fundraiser

Pueblo
-- The Pueblo School for Arts and Sciences (PSAS) will sponsor the seventh annual Empty Bowls Nite fundraiser to benefit Posada, the Pueblo Soup Kitchen, and Wayside Cross Gospel Rescue Mission in observance of International Hunger Awareness Month. The University of Southern Colorado holds the PSAS charter and works closely with PSAS officials to achieve their mission.

The dinner will occur Tuesday, Nov. 12, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Union Depot on B Street. A $10 ticket buys dinner, entertainment, and one of the empty bowls made by students, parents, teachers, and local artists. Students from PSAS will provide entertainment and serve the dinner. In addition to a Folklorico dance presentation, past and present students will perform vocal and instrumental pieces. The event also will include a silent auction.

"These local organizations are lacking in 50 percent of their usual annual donations because people are donating to the Red Cross and relief funds," said Cynthia Ramu, an instructor for PSAS.

For more information regarding the event call 549-2616.
