Pueblo -- Four University of Southern Colorado students will join
hundreds of other students from throughout the United States for the 16th annual
national conference of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU)
in Denver on Oct. 26 - 29.
Joseph Medina, a USC Political Science junior; Tyson Valenzuela, a Pre-Nursing
sophomore; Felecia Garcia, a Business Management senior; and Emily Mondragon, a
Political Science sophomore, will attend four-days of events including career
fairs, personal and professional development workshops, and international
education sessions.
The conference will offer the opportunity for students to network with college
students from throughout the country," said HACU President and CEO Antonio
Flores. "Because this year's conference is in Denver, students from
Colorado will have a tremendous opportunity to benefit from an event that will
bring employers, advisors, experts and students to a single, convenient
setting," Flores said.
A free Career Fair on Sunday and Monday, Oct. 27-28, is open to all Colorado
college students and recent graduates. All conference events will take place at
the Adams Mark Hotel in downtown Denver.
As in previous years at annual conferences in San Antonio, San Diego,
Albuquerque, New York, Washington, D.C., Miami and San Juan, Puerto Rico, HACU's
16th Annual Conference will provide opportunities for students to interact with
national leaders, researchers, advocates, peers and role models.
