Families Week activities planned at University of
Southern Colorado
Pueblo -- Celebration of Families Week, (Oct. 13 - 19), at the University
of Southern Colorado will include a variety of activities geared toward
families. Initiated last year by Gov. Bill Owens, Celebration of Families Week
is intended to honor and highlight the value of the family in our society.
The public is welcome to attend all Families Week Activities, which are
sponsored by the Student Activities Board, the Special Events Committee, the
Experiential learning Center and the Women & Nontraditional Students Center.
Families may swim for free from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13, at the USC swimming
pool, located in the Sam Jones Sports Center. Those who choose to climb rather
than dive may test their skills on the climbing wall in Massari Gym B throughout
the day on Wednesday, Oct. 16. Uniting families in song will be the purpose of
Family Time Karaoke, which will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct.
18, in the Occhiato University Center Hearthwell Lounge.
The week's events will conclude with an arts and crafts session from 11 a.m. - 1
p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19 in the OUC Hearthwell Lounge.
