Scholarships now available at the University of
Southern Colorado
Pueblo, Colo. -- Applications for the Aquila Scholars Scholarship, the
Douglas County Natural Resources Conservation District Scholarship and the
Hispanic Scholarship Fund are available at the University of Southern
Colorado.
Individuals interested in applying for the Aquila Scholars Scholarship must be
University of Southern Colorado students with a GPA of 3.0. The student must be
a residential customer or the owner or operator of a commercial or industrial
account. Preference will be given to students majoring in business, marketing,
economics, the natural sciences or engineering. Applications must be postmarked
no later than Monday, Sept. 30.
Applicants for the Douglas County Natural Resources Conservation District
Scholarship must be college Freshman or Sophomores majoring in the fields of
Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Environmental Science, Soil Science,
Watershed Management, Earth Resources Sciences, and other fields related to the
utilization and conservation of soil and water resources. Residents of Douglas
County, Colorado who graduated from a Douglas County high school will be given
first consideration. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.5 or
better. The application deadline is Friday, Sept. 13.
Individuals who are of Hispanic background and have a minimum GPA of 2.7 may
apply for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. Applicants must be enrolled full-time
in a degree-seeking program at an accredited U.S. college or university and have
completed at least 12 undergraduate credits. Applications should be postmarked
no later than Tuesday, Oct. 15.
