USC STUDENTS SELECTED FOR DISNEY WORLD INTERNSHIP
Pueblo, Colo. - Fourteen students from the University of Southern Colorado
recently were selected to participate in the Walt Disney World College Program
in Orlando, Fla., during the 2002 summer and fall semesters.
Students selected to participate are Illia Berrios, a
freshman majoring in pre-nursing; Promis Bruno, a freshman majoring in
psychology; Nick Buccola, a sophomore majoring in mechanical engineering
technology; Matthew DeHerrera, a sophomore majoring in sociology; Bethany
Kostecka, a junior majoring in social science; Ryan Loesch, a freshman majoring
in electronics engineering technology; William McShane, a freshman majoring in
computer information systems; Nicolas Papps, a sophomore majoring in mass
communications; Bethany Pelayo, a sophomore majoring in pre-business; Katie
Pitts, a freshman in pre-business; Melanie Rogers, a sophomore in
pre-engineering; LaToya Smith, a freshman in pre-business; Amy West, a junior in
pre-business; and Desmond Zoller, a sophomore in pre-business.
According to Michelle Gjerde, interim director of the USC
Career Center, no other internship can bring a more diversified group of
students together to learn, grow, discover career opportunities and build
lifetime friendships. "The college program also gives the students an
opportunity to earn credit while they complete a paid internship with
Disney," stated Gjerde.
