Information Technology Services (ITS) has rolled out Office 2007. This package upgrade offers many new user-friendly features and functions, including Tabs, Quick Access Menus, Mini Toolbars, Alt Shortcuts and Commands.

Instructional Technology Center (ITC) is offering faculty and staff classes to help acquaint you with Office 2007, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook. Check the ITC Training Calendar for a schedule of times and dates.

Compatibility:

All Office 2007 files generated will have an extension that has an “x” appended. For example, a Word document will now be named filename.docx.
A compatibility patch has been loaded on all campus computers. This will allow users who are using different Office products to share files. For personal computers, a compatibility patch can be downloaded from Microsoft Downloads.

Email:

Faculty and Staff email has also been enhanced with the same look and feel.
Student email accounts will also utilize Office 2007 – Outlook.
