Recognizing these needs, the
Colorado State University - Pueblo will use its own and Title III
resources to provide appropriate instructional technology to train
and support faculty in the use of new educational technology tools
and the subsequent use of those tools in learning. The University
will create an Instructional Technology Center (ITC) that will serve
as a catalyst for the infusion of technologies into the curriculum
where appropriate. The integration of technology into learning processes
will increase student access to learning materials, provide a richer
presentation of curriculum, better accommodate diverse learning
styles, enhance student success, and encourage the development of
lifelong learning skills.
This approach to addressing
increased technology access, student success, and workplace skills
at the Colorado State University - Pueblo was selected as a result
of the needs identified through the TLTR in the development of the
University’s Information Technology Plan, and information
gained by the study of current University data trends on student
success and retention. Experience with other "across the curriculum"
efforts indicates that faculty driven infusion processes are most
likely to create pervasive substantive changes, such as those we
intend to achieve as we strive to improve students’ skills
with technologically based learning and knowledge acquisition tools.
