Living Learning Communities are floors especially for students who share a particular interest in various academic areas, social issues or activities. If you want to get a good start in college, these communities are worth checking out:
First Year Experience
The First Year Experience community is a co-ed, freshman residential living-learning environment that encourages students to connect with their peers, faculty and staff through participation in various activities important to first year students. It offers a series of programs designed to help students successfully transition to CSU- Pueblo.
Outdoor Leadership Community
The Outdoor Leadership Community (OLC) is a living and learning community intentionally designed for freshman students who share outdoor pursuits interests. OLC participants will have the opportunity to experience the natural environments of Colorado. Students will learn a variety of outdoor living skills, trip planning skills, wilderness medicine, and group leadership skills applicable to a variety of wilderness traveling scenarios. The OLC program facilitates cohesive connections with peers and fosters a connection to the University, Pueblo and Colorado. The OLC is interactive, supportive, challenging and fun.
Synergy House
Synergy House is a multipurpose living-learning community which has a focus on diversity and programming, while creating a homely and safe environment within the residence hall. The Synergy House Living Learning Community seeks to develop a strong network between students, faculty, and staff that will enable students to be even more successful in their undergraduate career and be able to embrace the diversity. As part of this living-learning community students will be taking 4 classes together: Intro to Chicano Studies, Intro to Ally Development, History of the US Southwest, and Social Justice Activism.
Business Majors
This floor is dedicated to Business students. Social and academic events are catered specifically to the needs and interests of students enrolled in Business classes. Members on this floor can look forward to programs and opportunities including study groups, faculty interaction and social opportunities.
Academic All Stars
This community will provide a living-learning environment in that it gives first-year and upper-class students the opportunity to take classes, participate in social activities, and live with other academically talented students. In addition to the numerous social programs offered in this community, students will benefit from greater interaction with faculty outside of the classroom and opportunities to participate in special programs designed to enhance academic and personal success.
