facilities in the chemical sciences. |
|
CCLI (Course, Curriculum
and Laboratory Improvement) -- The CCLI program seeks to improve the
quality of undergraduate science, mathematics, engineering, and technology
(SMET) courses, curricula, and laboratories. It encompasses SMET education
for all students and targets activities affecting the learning
environment, content, and educational practices. The program features
three major tracks: (1) Educational Materials Development, (2) Adaptation
and Implementation (of exemplary materials, laboratory experiences, and
educational practices), and (3) National Dissemination. |
| Corning
Incorporated Foundation - Each year, the Foundation fulfills
approximately 225 grants totaling some $2,800,000. Corning's areas
of involvement have included community service programs for students,
curriculum enrichment, student scholarships, facility improvement, and
instructional technology projects for the classroom. |
|
Council of Independent
Colleges - CIC develops and implements major national projects,
programs and special initiatives that engage colleges and universities in
reform in a wide range of areas. |
| Charles A. Dana Foundation -- grant
programs in health and education and operating programs of awards and
public affairs. The Health grants program supports brain research
focused on preventing, diagnosing, or treating human neurological diseases
and disorders. The Education grants program supports dissemination of
leading edge innovations for educating and nurturing children from
pre-kindergarten through high school, with a particular emphasis on the
earliest years. |
| Environmental Protection Agency -- To
protect human health and safeguard the natural environment. |
|
Gender Equity in Science,
Mathematics, Engineering and Technology (PGE)
The program seeks to broaden the participation of girls and young women in
all fields of science, mathematics, engineering and technology (SMET)
education by supporting research, demonstration, and dissemination
projects that will lead to change in education policy and practice. |
| GrantsNet -- Funding opportunities
for training in the biological and medical sciences. |
|
Hewlett
Packard -- Hewlett-Packard’s (HP) U.S. University Grants
program seeks to improve the quality of higher education by providing HP
products to colleges and universities that integrate technology with
teaching to improve student learning and establish high academic
standards. Proposals must be for programs in engineering and computer
science, information technology, or graduate schools of management.

kindergarten through postgraduate training. |
| W. M. Keck Foundation --
Foundation's grant making is focused primarily on the areas of medical
research, science, and engineering. |
| OBFS -- Organization of Biological Field
Stations -- Biological Field Stations and Marine Laboratories (FSMLs)
are off-campus facilities for research and education conducted in the
natural habitats of terrestrial, freshwater, and marine ecosystems. |
National Institute of Standards
and Technology, located just outside
Washington DC, has a 12-week Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship
(SURF) program providing hands-on research experience in the Physics
Laboratory, the Materials Science and Engineering Laboratory, and the
Manufacturing Engineering Laboratory. |
