Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team (DMORT) -- This is a Federal Level Response Team designed to provide mortuary assistance in the case of a mass fatality incident or cemetery related incident. This and other medical teams are administered by the Department of Health and Human Services and the Office of Emergency Preparedness - National Disaster Medical System NDMS and thousands of volunteer members from across the country dedicated to helping those in need. Department of Agriculture -- mission strives to develop cutting edge technologies that improve food and fiber production and enhance the safety of the national food supply. National Telecommunications and Information Administration -- NTIA's Office of Telecommunications and Information Applications (OTIA) assists state and local governments, educational and health care entities, libraries, public service agencies, and other groups in effectively using telecommunications and information technologies to better provide public services and advance other national goals.
Department of Education -- The
Administration's priorities include national efforts to improve reading
and math, reduce class size, strengthen school construction, and promote
major new initiatives and the Partnership for Family Involvement in
Education.
Office of Bilingual Education
and Minority Language Affairs -- helps school districts
meet their responsibility to provide equal education opportunity to
limited English proficient children.
Office of Postsecondary
Education -- provides grants to institutions to increase access to
higher education, improve the academic preparations of students, and
strengthen institutional capacity. Also included here are international
and graduate education programs.

disadvantaged students progress from middle school to post baccalaureate
programs.
Fund for the Improvement
of Postsecondary Education - FIPSE's main activity each year
is conducting the Comprehensive Program, a grant program intended to
support innovative educational reform projects that can serve as
national models for the improvement of postsecondary education. If you
have a good idea for improving teaching or student learning, or for
improving access to postsecondary education , then FIPSE's Comprehensive
Program might be an ideal funding source. Department of Energy -- The Energy Department is committed to helping educate our nation's next generation of scientists. The department's ESTEEM web site brings the scientific and educational resources of our national laboratories to a central location. Department of Health and Human Services -- has approximately 300 grant programs, most of which are administered in a decentralized manner by several agencies. Health Resources and Services Administration Bureau of Health Professionals-- directs national health programs which improve the health of the Nation by assuring quality health care to underserved, vulnerable and special-need populations and by promoting appropriate health professions workforce capacity and practice, particularly in primary care and public health. Bureau of Health Professions -- support for health professions workforce enhancement and educational infrastructure development with respect to workforce quality, supply, diversity, and distribution. Department Housing and Urban Development (HUD) -- The mission of HUD is to insure a decent, safe, and sanitary home and suitable living environment for every American by fighting for fair housing, increasing affordable housing and home ownership, reducing homelessness, promoting jobs and economic opportunity, empowering people and communities and restoring the public trust. Justice Information Center -- funds researchers and practitioners engaging in specific criminal and juvenile justice projects. General financial aid for college study is not available. National Institute of Justice -- Supports research, evaluation and demonstration programs, development of technology, and both national and international information dissemination. Environmental Protection Agency -- To protect human health and safeguard the natural environment. The Federal Register -- The Federal Register is the official daily publication for Rules, Proposed Rules, and Notices of Federal agencies and organizations, as well as Executive Orders and other Presidential Documents. National Endowment for the Arts -- fosters the excellence, diversity and vitality of the arts in the United States, and helps to broaden public access to the arts. Since 1965, the NEA has awarded more in 111,000 grants. National Endowment for the Humanities -- A federal agency that supports learning in history, literature, philosophy, and other areas of the humanities. NEH provided funding for research, education, museum exhibitions, documentaries, preservation, and local activities at the state level. National Science Foundation -- an independent U.S. government agency responsible for promoting science and engineering through programs that invest over $3.3 billion per year in almost 20,000 research and education projects in science and engineering. |
