Kati Haycock - Access to Success

Educational Trust

One of the nation's leading advocates in the field of education shared national data on access and success in higher education at CSU-Pueblo on April 18. Kati Haycock, president of The Education Trust, focused on access and success of low-income students and students of color, addressed problems that contribute to different patterns of success, and shared what some institutions are doing to increase opportunities for low-income and minority students.

Established in 1996, The Education Trust works for the high academic achievement of all students at all levels, pre-kindergarten through college in order to close the gaps in opportunity and achievement that consign too many low-income students and students of color to lives on the margins of the American mainstream. The organization works hand in hand with educators and civic leaders in their efforts to transform schools and colleges into institutions that serve all students well.

Haycock speaks about educational improvement to thousands of educators, community and business leaders, and policymakers annually.  She has received numerous awards for her service in behalf of our nation’s youth, and serves as a director on several education-related boards, including the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, The New Teacher Project, and the Hunt Institute.
