The ThunderWolves Marching band is scheduled to debut at the home opener football game against Eastern New Mexico on August 29. This is a new student organization which has been generously funded through campus and community efforts. The band has purchased an immense amount of brand new marching band equipment, including marching brass, percussion instruments, and new uniforms are slated to arrive on campus in early August.
Scholarship Incentives are available to non-music majors who would like to participate in the marching band. Contact Director of Bands, Alan Mills, for more information at x2521 or
alan.mills@colostate-pueblo.edu
. Participants are required to have at least one year of high school band experience as a wind or percussion player. Students with no formal music training/experience can also participate in the color guard.
If this opportunity interests you:
1. Contact the Marching Band Director right away! (See the email address and phone number above.)
2. Sign up for the one credit class. (Freshman and sophomores should sign up for MUS 230, while juniors and seniors should sign up for MUS 430.) If you need assistance with registration, please contact the Department of Music or Derek Lopez at the First Year Center at
derek.lopez@colostate-pueblo.edu
or x2535.
3. Be prepared to report to band camp. As our home opener football game performance is already at the end of the first week of classes, we will hold a required band camp starting on August 12, which will run until August 22, to help get us ready.
4. Invite a friend to come with you!
