Colorado State University - Pueblo faculty member earns first-place award for photograph

PUEBLO – A Colorado State University-Pueblo mass communications faculty member received a first-place award for feature photography in the Society of Professional Journalists’ Region 9 Top of the Rockies Awards, held in Denver on April 10.

Associate Professor Richard Joyce received the first-place award for his photo of a bald eagle fishing at Lake Pueblo published in the March 2009 issue of the Redstone Review, a monthly general interest newspaper in Lyons, Colo.

The Top of the Rockies Awards is a regional competition for professional journalists throughout Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. Joyce received the award during the Region 9 SPJ Spring Conference held at the Denver Press Club.
