Meet the Interim Provost of Colorado State University - Pueblo.

The Office of the Provost is responsible for ensuring the quality of student learning by overseeing the curriculum and leading new initiatives in education. Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Rick Kreminski is the chief academic officer for Colorado State University - Pueblo. In this capacity, Interim Provost Kreminski provides leadership to academic programs, research, and outreach involving faculty, students, and staff. He oversees the quality of programs of instruction and research through collaborative work with the college deans, along with the director of Continuing Education, the University Library, Student Academic Services, Admissions and Records, and Technical Services, addressing issues such as effective planning, good management, and program reviews. In addition, the Provost is responsible for review and approval of all academic programs and policies as well as the appointment, promotion, and compensation of the faculty.

About Dr. Rick Kreminski
Rick Kreminski has served Colorado State University-Pueblo as Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) since August 2009. Prior to that, he was at Texas A&M University – Commerce, a branch of the A&M System, for 17 years, where he began as ad interim Assistant Professor in 1992 while completing his dissertation, then rose through the ranks of Assistant, Associate and Full Professor (including administrative stints as head of the Department of Mathematics, Assistant Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Acting Head of chemistry, and Interim Dean of Arts and Sciences). Kreminski received several awards in Commerce, including their campus-wide service award, two campus-wide teaching awards, and their campus-wide research award. A professor of mathematics, Kreminski has taught at least one math class in all but three semesters from 1992 to 2011 (including in 4 of his 5 semesters at CSU-Pueblo), and has supervised two undergraduate honors theses and the master’s projects of over a dozen math students back in Texas. He has published 11 journal articles in mathematics, 1 coauthored textbook (Johns Hopkins University Press), and 3 invited encyclopedia articles (and a mathematical graphic featured on the cover of a leading mathematics journal). His most recent competitive grant was for $125K from the Colorado Department of Transportation that ended in spring 2011, and included funding for several graduate students in CSM and CEEPS.
Kreminski earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1981, and master’s and doctoral degrees in Interdisciplinary Applied Mathematics from the University of Maryland – College Park. He received the juris doctorate from the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University in 2008.
