Montgomery GI Bill (Selected Reserve) The Montgomery GI Bill -Selective Reserves (formerly chapter 106) is for individuals in the Selected Reserve or National Guard (not on active duty). They must be currently and actively drilling and under a 6-year contract. They are only eligible for benefits as long as they remain in the reserves. As of October 1, 2003, they receive $282.00 per month for full-time status.
The following is the paperwork you need to complete in order to transfer your Montgomery GI Bill (Selected Reserve), Chapter 1606, Veteran's Educational Benefits. Please follow the directions carefully, use a black ink pen and return all completed paperwork to our office as soon as possible.
VETERAN'S INFORMATION SHEET This form will be used to initiate a file for our office and also to update the VEB database.
APPLICATION FOR VETERAN'S EDUCATION BENEFITS (VA FORM 22-1990) Complete the application, sign and date it. Make a copy for your records and mail the original along with a copy of your DD214 to the CSU-Pueblo VEB office. The address is listed at the bottom of the page.

VA FORM 2384-NOTICE OF BASIC ELIGIBILITY The VEBRO will not initiate a file for our office and also to update the VEB database. benefits unless they receive a Notice of Basic Eligibility. A copy may be obtained from your Reserve Unit.
CLASS SCHEDULE Our office can not certify you until we receive a copy of your class schedule for the semester you plan on attending. Once you have registered bring a copy to our office ASAP. Keep in mind that it takes the VEBRO at least 8 weeks to process benefits so the sooner you bring your schedule in, the sooner you will get your educational benefits.
CREDIT EVALUATION If you have prior credits from either CSU-Pueblo or another training institution, you must fill out a credit evaluation form and mail it to the CSU-Pueblo VEB Office.
