StudOrg Challenge

Club Challenge 2012

Rules

1)    Only fully registered Student Organizations and club members can participate in the challenge. Registration has to be completed on OrgSync.

2)    Only up to TEN registered members of the club can represent the club during the StudOrg challenge. But you can have TWO alternates in which you can switch the representative roster.

3)    Last day to register for club challenge will be Tuesday, January 31st, 2012.

4)    Only the TEN registered representatives and active participant alternates will be able to attend the first place party but the clubs that first, second and third place will also receive the prizes of the competition.

5)    Competition starts Wednesday, February 1st, 2012.

6)    To score full points, participants of the challenge have to stay the entire duration of the event.

7)    The office of student activities has the ability to disqualify any student organization that does not act in accordance to student organization guidelines (i.e. academic dishonesty, inappropriate behavior, etc.)

8)    The last day to switch alternates is Friday, March 16th, 2012.

9)    The prizes for the first, second and third placing clubs will be given to accordingly and cannot be transferable.

10)    Competition ends Thursday, March 22nd, 2012.

 

Definition of Each Category

1)    Attending SON Meetings (10 pts) – There are two opportunities to score points for attending the SON meetings. The StudOrg representatives have to check in with the OSA’s StudOrg team to sign in at the end of the event to score the full points.

2)    Attending SOAW Meetings (10 pts) - There are two opportunities to score points for attending the SOAW meetings. The StudOrg representatives have to check in with the OSA’s StudOrg team to sign in at the end of the event to score the full points.

3)    Using the Resources in the Solar Room (5 pts) – There is only one opportunity to score points for using the resources in the solar room. The StudOrg representatives have to show proof that they came in (i.e. meeting with the OSA’s StudOrg Coordinator or team, making a poster, etc.) to score the full points.

4)    Attending the Spring StudOrg Retreat (25 pts) – There is only one opportunity to score points for attending the StudOrg retreat. The StudOrg representatives will have to attend all day and will have to check in with the OSA’s StudOrg team at the end of the retreat to receive full points.

5)    Signing Up for Pi Day (30 pts) – There is only one opportunity to score points for signing up for Pi Day. The StudOrg representatives will be able to score the points by actually participating during the day’s events. The representatives have to check in with the OSA’s StudOrg team at the end of your volunteer shift to score the 30 points. The last day to register for Pi Day is Wednesday, March 7th, 2012.

6)    Volunteer planning/working with the Give a Spit Event (20 pts/15 pts) – There is only one opportunity to score points for volunteering to help plan or work the Give a Spit event. The registration deadline in the rules section. The representatives signed up to plan the event have to attend the kick off meeting on Thursday, February 23rd, 2012 at 10:30 am in the OSA office (OUC 002). The representatives have to check in with the OSA StudOrg team after they have finished their duties. 7)    Participate with the Give a Spit Event – The days of this event are Wednesday, March 21st to Thursday, March 22nd, 2012 from 11 am to 4 pm in the Hearthwell lounge (OUC). The representatives of the club have to check in with the OSA StudOrg team after they have completed their registration. 8)    Attending the 20/20 Events (10 pts) – There are two opportunities to score points for attending the 20/20 events. The StudOrg representatives have to check in with the OSA’s StudOrg team to sign in at the end of the event to score the full points.

9)    Attending the Distinguished Speaker Series (10 pts) – There are two opportunities to score points for attending the Distinguished speaker series. The StudOrg representatives have to check in with the OSA’s StudOrg team to sign in at the end of the event to score the full points.

10)     Recruiting Members (15 pts/30 pts) – OSA’s StudOrg team will be checking how many members the club has in the OrgSync page the day registered. During the two months, you have to recruit members by having them join the OrgSync pages. At the end of the two months, the OSA StudOrg team will check your pages to check how many new members joined. For 5 to 9 new members, the club will receive 15 points. For 10 or more new members, the club will receive 30 points.
